Case study: Impact Build

No website. No professional photography. No Google presence. Just a trades business built on skill and word of mouth, and a growing sense that something was missing.
Luke and the team at Impact Build had been operating in the Macedon Ranges for years, doing quality work for quality clients. But the way they were showing up online didn’t reflect that. Social media was guesswork. Photos were taken on a phone. There was no website, no Google Business Profile strategy, and no real plan behind any of it.
Almost two years later, that has changed completely. And Luke would be the first to tell you that the results have surprised even him.
The client

Impact Build is a Macedon Ranges-based building business specialising in renovations, extensions and custom new builds. Led by director Luke, the business works with homeowners across the region who are looking for a builder they can trust with the projects that matter most, from first renovations to forever homes.
Impact Build is a Master Builders member (CDB-U 101779) and has built a strong reputation in the local market through the quality of their work and their hands-on approach with clients.
The situation before KGMG Creative
When Impact Build came to KGMG Creative, they were starting from close to zero on the digital side.
No website
Limited social media with no strategy behind it
No Google Business Profile set up or optimised
No professional photography or videography
No portfolio of completed work in any digital format
Luke’s own words say it plainly: the social content was all guesswork, the photography did not come close to representing the quality of the work, and the business had written off websites as “a thing of the past.”
That last point is one we hear from trades businesses regularly. When you’re busy and your phone is ringing through word of mouth, it can be hard to see what a digital presence would actually add. What changed Luke’s thinking was understanding that a referral is no longer the end of the decision. It is the beginning of a search.
What KGMG Creative delivered
This is a full-service client relationship in every sense. Web design and build, professional photography and videography, social media management, Google Business Profile strategy, ongoing content and blog management, and a monthly strategy and execution process that keeps everything moving in the same direction.

Custom Wix Studio website, built from the ground up.
Kelly built Impact Build a fully custom Wix Studio website: not from a template, not retrofitted from something else. Built from scratch around how a potential client actually searches for and evaluates a builder.
The site showcases completed projects with professional photography, answers the questions a prospective client asks before they pick up the phone, and is structured from the ground up with SEO and GEO foundations in place. Google Search Console is set up and the site map submitted. Every page is optimised. Nothing is left to chance.
Professional photography and videography by Nic.
Before KGMG Creative, Impact Build had no professional visual content. Nic now shoots their projects regularly, producing high-quality photography and videography that gives the website a portfolio to be proud of and gives social media content that actually reflects the standard of the work.
Nic shoots knowing where every image will live. A project photo is not just a record of the work. It is a website hero image, a social media post, a before-and-after, a GBP update and a case study asset, all from one well-briefed shoot. That strategic approach is what makes the photography budget work across every channel simultaneously.
Full-service social media management.
Matt manages Impact Build’s social media across Meta (Facebook and Instagram) with a monthly content calendar built around the business, its projects and its audience. Copy, graphics and photography are all produced in-house by the KGMG Creative team, so everything connects and nothing is inconsistent.
The social media strategy for Impact Build leans into what works for a trades audience: project progress, completed work, team on site, before and afters, and a growing mix of video content including a full brand story package. Matt and Luke are in regular contact throughout the month, not just at calendar review, so the content reflects what is actually happening in the business in real time.
Google Business Profile: set up, optimised and actively managed.
Luke acknowledged it himself: setting up Google Business Profile is not as simple as it sounds. KGMG Creative handled the full setup and optimisation, with regular posts, updated project photography, accurate service area information and consistent management of reviews and business details.
For a local trades business, GBP is local search infrastructure. When someone in Woodend or Kyneton asks Google to recommend a builder, an actively maintained profile is what puts you in front of them. It is not optional. It is foundational.
Ongoing content, blog management and monthly strategy.
Beyond the initial build and launch, KGMG Creative manages Impact Build’s blog and website content on an ongoing basis, adding project case studies, building EEAT signals and keeping the site active and relevant in search. The monthly strategy process means every piece of content, across every channel, is working toward the same goal.
The results
Almost two years in, the numbers tell a consistent story.
600% increase in web contact enquiries, consistently month on month
300% monthly growth in blog views, building EEAT and search authority
40% monthly growth in organic search traffic
28% increase in Google Search impressions (last 90 days)
49% increase in click-throughs from Google Search (last 90 days)
100+ monthly increase in GEO visibility
On social media, Impact Build’s silent following is growing consistently, their enquiry rate through social channels is increasing, and the business is building brand collaborations with other key trades businesses in the region. That kind of peer recognition does not happen by accident. It is the result of showing up consistently with content that reflects the quality of the work.
In Luke’s own words
“We have also worked with KGMG to have our website built from scratch, which has been unexpectedly the best thing we could have done. We previously believed that websites were a thing of the past. Prior to using KGMG, our socials weren’t really targeting anyone as a client. It was all just guesswork. As a business, we are certain that without KGMG Creative being on board, we would not be growing as a business today, attracting quality clients to work with.” - Luke, Director, Impact Build

Why this works: everything in one place
The Impact Build story is a clear illustration of what happens when every part of a digital presence is produced by the same team under one brief.
The photography feeds the website. The website feeds Google. Google drives enquiries. Social media builds the audience that converts when they’re ready. GBP makes the business visible in local search and AI-powered tools. The blog builds authority over time. And a monthly strategy process keeps all of it moving together.
When these elements are managed separately, by different providers with different briefs and no shared strategy, they undermine each other. When they are managed by one team who talk to each other, every channel makes every other channel more effective.
That is the KGMG Creative approach. And Impact Build is one of the strongest examples of what it looks like in practice.
